Dear Cecil,
I am going to be completely remodeling my kitchen and am at a loss as to where to put the stove.
My kitchen is a U shape almost fully closed with an island in the middle. The wall directly in front of you when you enter has windows and faces southwest. My sink is placed here currently.
The south/south east wall is diagonally on your left as you enter. I have been advised to place my stove along this wall, but it would place my back to the entrance of the kitchen which I know is not ideal.
Currently, the only way to face the entrance in my kitchen would be to place the stove on an island which I have also been told is not a good thing to do.
On the right when you walk in is a peninsula, open to the dining room. This again does not seem to be a protected area.
Is having your back to the door such a problem? Is it more important than placing the stove in a good direction, or a protected location. I have looked through many many books, and read all the info on this site but cannot seem to be able to come up with a solution.
Is it bad to place the stove in the island? How about the sink.
Any advice you could give me would be so appreciated.
Sincerely,
Fig

User's Comments I would like to offer compliments. you have a great web site offering excellent content. its focused and comprehensive and distinguished in the field. In the English speaking world, your services are one of the best I have seen. I understand you are offering a commercial service, concurrently you also make available informative services to a very large audience, which is excellent. I feel saddened that there are those western modern stylists who claim to practice fengshui. browsing the on-line sites of these con-artists, they are mere fronts for hawking goods at crazy prices. I am only curious of how to drive these bad elements out, as they are degrading a very well practiced tradition and cultural asset. Best Regards, Scott Chen 8 November 2003 |
