Dear Neil,
Yes, it is very common for Feng Shui practitioners to `agree' that the front door need not necessarily be the main entrance door.
It can be the garage door. However, some FS practitioners also go further to mention that if there is a discrepancy, the main door should be the one with the house number on it. Alternatively, the house number be placed on to the alternative door i.e. the garage door.
